my desk essentials

I have been spending SO MUCH time at my desk these days!

Between work, writing, pinning, photo editing, keeping my schedule, planning two bachelorette parties, and more, I feel like my desk has become my home! Thank goodness for an office space that I love!

Qualities I want in my desk setup: clean, aesthetic, minimal, functional, comfy, relaxing, and peaceful. The key is to create a space that feels comfy and peaceful, but also allows you to feel productive and focused.

Here are my tried and true desk essentials - let's get into it!

  1. iMac 24-inch All-in-One; Silver - It's sleek, fast, minimal, efficient, and I love the screen size and capabilities for my work!

  2. 12.9-inch iPad Pro; Space Grey - this was my first purchase for my office set up back in 2022. I wanted something with some versatility and portability and this thing has served me well! I use it mostly for a second screen now (seamless, wireless connection with my iMac), but also still like it for the tablet on-the-go experience!

  3. Amazon Magnetic iPad Stand - I LOVE this thing! Before I had my iMac, my iPad was my primary screen and this was perfect! It makes it like a desktop experience. It's magnetic, clean, and works great for my second screen set up now as well.

  4. Macbook Air 13-inch Laptop; Silver - I know, I know. How many devices does one gal need?? I have been building and adding to my electronic portfolio for a few years now. When I upped my blogging, writing, pinning, and photo editing this year, I wanted a desktop experience for that heavier lifting work that could travel with me. I also use this at my desk regularly as another screen, but most of my blog posts are written on here :) (side note: I have been AMAZED by the lower pricing on the larger Apple devices these days. You can get a Macbook for nearly, if not less than, the price of an iPhone!!)

  5. Amazon Phone Stand; Silver - this makes for such a clean desk set up and increases my productivity! I place my phone here to charge during the work day. I can easily see any necessary notifications and find myself reaching for it a lot less than if its just casually resting on my desk. Even better... it's like $10 and matches the aesthetic of the more expensive Apple products!

  6. Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse; White - a tried and true for about 2 years now! I was experiencing a lot of wrist pain after long work days / just in general. This mouse was a recommendation from a productivity influencer I follow on IG and I LOVE IT! I no longer have any wrist pain... an actual game changer. It is not as sleek as the Apple mouse (the one pictured above), but it is WORTH IT for the benefits!

  7. Amazon Leather Mouse Pad; black - sleek, clean, high-quality, and only $10!

  8. Zara Cordless Iron Table Lamp - a great productivity tool! It is very small, has 3 brightness settings, rechargeable, and is touch to turn on. I like to have this lamp on the lowest brightness when I am working as a reminder to me that it is focused work time. AND it's also so cutie!

  9. Comfy Desk Chair - a necessity for productivity and health! Find something that you like to look at / fits your office aesthetic, provides good posture and support, and meets your functionality needs. My chair was a little bit of an investment (and no longer made, sadly), but I find the investment worth it for how much I use it. It really does make a difference in your productivity and physical wellbeing.

  10. A Good Desk - I have the Living Spaces Nora Brown Desk! This is the most recent addition to my desk set up. I wanted something a little bit smaller (I was using a dining table as my desk), and I loved the size and color of this one. It was also really affordable at only $295!

  11. Favorite Pens + Note Pads - gotta have these in your desk drawer!

  12. Blue Light Glasses - a necessity for me! I was experiencing a lot of eye strain, fatigue, and tiredness so I decided to invest in some high quality blue light glasses. They have been a game changer for me! I have the Baxter Blue Jasper Glasses in Crystal. They are comfortable, have minimal glare and color distortion, and very high quality. 10/10 worth the investment for something I wear every single day!

  13. Amazon Ergonomic Foot Rest - actually makes a difference in your posture and comfort while you work at your desk for hours!

  14. My Go-To-Do-It-ALL Productivity Tool - NOTION! When I tell you I use Notion to organize my life, I mean it! It is a one stop shop for productivity, planning, scheduling, etc. I use it for work, organizing and planning my blogs, my daily to do lists and weekly schedule, goal organization, weekly money and marriage meetings with my husband, and so much more! I might write a blog post on this one day, but for now, I totally recommend watching some Youtube videos on Notion and all it can do. Julesacree on Youtube is a FANTASTIC resource for all things Notion, and pretty much where I learned all I know about it. Her templates available for purchase are also GREAT!

Well, that's that, my friends! My current desk set up and essentials in a very busy season! By no means is all of this necessary to create a productive, comfortable, and aesthetic desk set up. It is all about creating spaces that feel like home to you, help you be positively productive, and efficient in a healthy way. We spend so much time at our desks - let's enjoy them, shall we??

    xx,

    AJ
