Ah January. A fresh, new year.
This past month was all about going into 2026 intentionally - not running to the races of the goals and to dos, but building a routine that felt aligned with my priorities and settling into the changes that I want to make in a slow, sustainable way. I leaned into that purposeful timeline of the seasons and gave myself space to reset, recharge, and realign with myself on what I wanted as I headed into the new year.

One thing that God has been constantly placing on my heart over the last few months is stewardship. Stewarding all the days, skills, creativity, and things He has given me in order to point others to Him and the abundance of joy that comes with living with and for Him. Being that God would not let that word leave my mind or spirit, it absolutely made sense to make stewardship my word for the year (if not the word of my life…. is that crazy??). AND in just this past month, pivotal things happened for me and my brand while keeping that word as my compass to point me to what really matters.
So, stewarding in style is the plan. "Stewarding in style" because, of course, I am stewarding life while being stylish in fashion and home, but I’m also stewarding the gifts, talents, creativity, and resources God has given me through style.
the month in it's finest
January's finest: family, new years tree, goals and priorities planning, post holidays routine, brand revamp, Texas snow week 2026, journaling, neon yellow phone case, health and fitness, dates with my love, and time with my dogs
ALSO, Letters to Juliet! I had never seen this movie before this past month, and I don’t know how that is possible. It was right up my ally - Tuscany (obsessed with all things Tuscany and Tuscan design), romance, meaningful storytelling, wonderful characters, incredible scenery, and so much more. Needless to say, it is my new favorite movie of all time. What a joy it is to find new favorites!
the month in fashion + beauty
Some key players: layers layer layers, relaxed fits (whats new??), blazers, and fun accessories
Layers were my fashion LOVE this past month. I wrote an entire blog post on layers (read here) - I couldn't get enough. A classic trend that I am definitely going to be carrying with me into the springs months and throughout the year. My favorite layering piece was Zara Asymmetric Lace Dress. I loved layered her under t-shirts, jackets, and windbreakers. I feel like layers are right in my style pocket of ease, effortless chic but bring an interesting texture and variety element too. I linked a bunch of my favorite layering pieces below.
Relaxed fits were my best friend all January (honestly, my best friend always!). A core part of my style is building on basics. I love feeling effortlessly put together and comfortable. Some of my favorite pieces for effortless looks all January: favorite oversized white tee, the best fitted white tee, most comfortable/high quality/affordable black leggings, brown loafers and white socks (I know, so grandpa but so chic to me), black blazer (linked similar to mine), THE slouchy jeans, and my go to/most perfect leather jacket (linked similar to mine). I curated a full list of my go to basics and basics wishlist below, and if you want to read a little jot on 'building on basics', you can read that here!
My go to accessories this month:
Amazon silver bangles - I am loving the bracelet over sleeve moment!
Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Silicone Case; Neon Yellow - YES, a phone case is an accessory for me lol. This color, although out of my typically neutral immediate family, she was a fun, distant cousin I enjoyed hanging out with for the month.
I was also really into natural makeup looks and natural nails. It is feeling so elegant to me these days. I have been experimenting with different makeup and nail products to find my perfect natural feel. My favorite blush of the month was my Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush in Postmodern (wearing in picture 1 above), but I have not landed on a full, no makeup makeup routine that I love. If anyone has any recs for natural makeup (think tinted moisturizer or light, European like makeup), let me know!
the month in home
My obsession with European design style blossomed even more this past month - I really feel like I am settling into my design style. Home takes a lot of time and its ever evolving, but it is a wonderful feeling to really start to know who you are, what you want, and to step into your own. Last year was a pivotal year for me in becoming who I am meant to be, and I fully believe that can show in home. A clear sense of self.
One goal this year is adding collected, intentional pieces to our home to make it feel like ours. It is a joy to have things that are unique to you and make you smile. My little handmade horse trinket tray makes me smile, and I will be buying more of the collection from the Etsy shop!
I am also looking at making a few changes to our home with my new sense of understanding of who I am and what I like. Again, home is always changing and takes time, but I love to dream and mull over designs and plans.
the month in living
1. My neon yellow phone case - an unexpected, fun staple!
2-3. Magazine date - my favorite hobby! I pick a collection to read on for the month.
4-5. Pasta dinner date with my love - don't sleep on Bazille in Nordstrom!
6. Seriously good gummy bears - like notable good!
7. Journaling - making journaling a consistent hobby this year. I did my week in pictures here and it actually inspired me to write a blog post. You can read 'Week in Pictures' here!
8. My office sideboard - this spot in my house inspires me.
9. Pilatesss - I have throughly enjoyed adding pilates to my workout split. I started towards the end of last year, but got more consistent in January and I love it. 6am pilates class, little coffee after, pick up my groceries order for the week, and get home before 7:45 am... such a vibe!
10-12. Texas Snow Week 2026 - my dogs loved the snow, we stayed cozy inside for the week, and is it just me or did anyone else not know that snowflakes actually looked like that in real life?? Like how stunning.
13. Lots of walks with the kids
14. Working gal - spent so much time at my desk this month! All good things - working for my incredible boss @accordingtomandy, planning for my brand for the year, branding revamp, writing, pinning, and more!
15. Thrifting - went home with something in this picture that I can't wait to refurbish!
